Mesa High School Memories - Gift #4

Well, this is just priceless isn't it?! I have had so much fun reconnecting with High School friends via facebook over the last couple months. And yes, some have started posting pictures from those wonderous 80s. This is me and James at Homecoming my Junior Year. It just makes me laugh out loud every time I look at it! We knew each other starting in Junior High and were band geeks together. I've got to pull out my old photos and join the quest of scanning them into my computer. Cause you think this is funny? You ain't seen nothing yet!

I had some good high school years and great friends to boot. It has been great to reconnect with Lisa, Julie, Andrea, Kim, Jenna, Shye, Becky, Krystal and on and on. I remember going with Julie and Lisa to Suns signing parties so we could try and follow Dan Marlje home and be stalkers! Or when we headed up to Greer, AZ to go snowmobiling for the weekend. Or when we constantly ditched seminary to run to Dunkin Donuts.

But what comes to mind as the gift of reconnecting with old friends is the reminder that the most important thing in life (at least in my life) is forming, developing, and nurturing relationships. It is a gift to know these people are still an important part of my life and we can pick up the pieces some 15+ years later and continue to nurture our relationships.

What I don't understand is, why is he holding your elbow in a death grip while you grope his boob? Seems awkward...

Yes, turleybenson is right. My first thought was, "why does he have Erin in a death grip?" Were you just posed that way, or you were really trying to get to second base (feel up his man boob)? Your legs look very long in that picture!

Here's to dear old (and new) friends.

Same thought from me...like neither of you know what to do w/ your hands? And, erin, you really are groping him!

Too funny.
I love geeky erin.

OK people. I was 16. It was my first high school dance. Of course I felt all weird and awkward. That is the point of the picture!
sheesh.

Love the photo Erin! It has been a blast reconnecting with you. Although, I only have memories of studying and listening intently to my teachers, especially Mr. Martinez (a.k.a. Fred). I always had a deep love of learning and getting an education. That's where my focus was. Except for that one time when you had all of those sweep forms and we headed for the California border in your Nissan Pulsar. Those were the days! :)

We also had a wonderful group of friends then and thanks to FB still. I am impressesd with your grattitude list. I look forward to everyday and seeing what new item you have come up with. I wish there was some way you, Julie and I could get together.
