People who know me well, know that I'm an emotional girl. Sometimes I love that gift and sometimes I detest it.
I love it when it allows me to be an empathetic listener. I love it when it easily lets me cry when others are crying. I love it when I get moved while watching a musical or dance performance. I love it when I can get over-the-top excited over silly, meaningless things. I love it when I can get so involved in a sporting event even though it could be the first time I've seen a team play. I love it when I get giddy at the site of a full moon rising in the desert. I love it when I can appreciate my surroundings. I love it when I can laugh so hard I start crying. And I especially love it when I play cards and my competitive nature comes out. :)
I detest it when it gets me all riled up at work. I detest it when others let me down and I let them know it. I detest it when the tear flood gates open and I can't stop them. I detest it when it makes me feel a bit snotty. Snotty not snooty. I try not to ever be snooty. :)
But I do believe it is a gift. It definitely is not a perfect gift but a gift that I treasure. And its a gift that evolves and changes over time. Thank goodness!
