I griped and complained about being the camp director and really wanted to back out of the whole thing but how much do I love girls camp! I really do. We had a super small group but they were such sweet girls - seriously, no drama - and it was so beautiful at the camp site with unbelievable clear, starry nights. It was fun learning new camp songs (peel bananas, brown squirrel, taco bell) - only knew one song that this group sings. And I love how the camp environment allows the girls to share things that they wouldn't otherwise share; such a great safety zone.
We initiated the first years with some snipe hunting. That was actually my first experience with snipe hunting; hysterical.
(the camp was located within Zion's National Park. Camp Kolob)
I put together a collage of pictures to display at church tomorrow. I think the girls will be pleasantly surprised...

i would SO sign up to have you as my camp leader. TOO fun. Hope my girls have as much fun in another week.
You got me all excited!
I am a bit bummed out I'm not going to camp this year. Just think. One year ago at our girls camp I met you and Laurel. Aaaww.
Looks like you had a blast!
Good looking group! Laurel's right - you are great with young people. I have such treasured memories of camp, what a great thing to be a part of.
How fun! I'm sure the girls all loved you. I can't believe you never experienced snipe hunts. Fun memories!
It looks like you guys had a good time :) I have never gone snipe hunting before, they didnt do it my first year for some reason. It would be so fun to have you as camp leader!
Awww. So cute! I bet you were so much fun for those girls.
Side note: your hair looks so different!!
Welcome back. Glad you survived AND had fun!!! Great pics!
I'm glad it turned out so well. Seeing your pictures--and reading about snipe hunts--reminds me how much fun I had at girls' camp. Still wouldn't want to be in charge, however.
Hope you're well!
