Let me just share with you some of the emails I got from the buyer regarding my sofa.
#1 (which is actually like email #3)
Hello Erin,How are you doing?I want you to understand that the deal as my secretary as posted the payment already, but there was a slight error i guess we can handle with care, instead of the actual amount $300,she made out the check for $3300 she claim that was what i requested but she didn't get that straight. So once you have the check please cash it and deduct the money for your goods plus $100 for your run around expenses. The excess fund should please be sent to my mover via western union, this fund will be use in offsetting the cost of the shipment he as undertaken for me recently. **Please email at once to let me know that i can trust to have the excess funds sent to my mover**.

You'll need to deduct the transfer charges from the funds okay.I will be expecting the transfer details as soon as you have it done. Also i want you to send me a scanned photocopy of the receipt for the westernunion transfer. I will be expecting to hearing from you. Warmest Regards.
#3 (I had asked him for a phone number so I could speak with him; his response)
Well i will intrust my shipping company to gine you a call and you can schedule the best time for the pickup. As you know am a bad stamerer, Not good enough though. I need you to have this taken care for me as my mover is getting mad with me now. I belive the funds should be available into your account by now. Please do have the funds wired today okay. The only thing delaying pickup now is the excess funds with you to facilitate pickup.I will be expecting to hear from you.
There are about 8 other emails but these were my favorite. I do feel a bit silly that I even let it get this far but it made for a good story.
I got a copy of the check and went to the parent bank (Wachovia) and they did a search and found that this guy has a case manager and all sorts of bad hits on his checking. I really, REALLY want to write him a nasty email that I can't share on my blog because my Mother reads it. But it involves all sorts of profanities. I shared it with Aryn and she approved. :)

Yes, your mother does read this. Can't believe how easy someone can be scamed. Good for you for being so very smart (You get that from your mom) MOM
I think that you should tear that jackass a new one! what an idiot trying to scam people... if that was happening to me I would pay him an unexpected visit. yet again, good catch Ernie (ps sorry granny for my profanities, but i learned from the best of them - you)
I definetly think you need to write the email! I would DEFIENTLY write an email if not something worse! He sounds angry and desperate like he knows it is not working out... dummy.
