Eating my words

I told many of you that I didn't have a date for Valentine's Day because Eric and I had just seen each other and will see each other next week so we skipped on hanging out for the hallmark created holiday. Uh, he is coming tomorrow for 2 days. Don't hate me.

On another note... I heard tonight that Lake Mead could dry up in 13 years if drastic measures aren't taken to conserve the supply. Um, hello? It was said ever so casually. Casually? I'm still one of those fanatic people who thinks the decreasing water supply will be our demise and not war or terrorism. Maybe that is because I have lived in the desert for most of my life and continue to watch the uncontrolled growth, the ridiculous amount of golf courses that must be watered several times a day and ALL THE CASINOS BEING BUILT! We live in a desert people! Do not continue to expand this area and think we will be okay. Water is not a given. We leave that to death and taxes (which I finished tonight and am ready to go buy things ;)). But seriously; this is why I know I could never live in the southwest my entire life. The lack of water freaks me out. Its the money hungry real-estate investors that have no concern for future generations but only what is in their pocket today that drives me crazy. (I realize that was a stereotype, but when you are on a rant that is allowed). I hear over and over that housing developments use less water than farm land. OK, but not all new housing developments are built on working farmlands AND isn't that a concern too? Why are we getting rid of the way we feed our country? That makes NO sense to me either. Zero population is not the answer my friends (Saturday's Warrior kickback). OK, I'm done. I don't want to be done but I better be done. I don't want my nephew Tyler to think I'm more crazy than he already does. :)

Erin (but more directly Laurel), I hate those who hate you =p. I will always think that you are crazy as G-ma but thats not always such a bad thing. I agree though that the agua situation of this country is a serious deal. Then again, terrorism is also bad and will probably kill us (especially since that one terrorist leader dude got killed, he hates americans and israelis so we are all screwed. Do you smell world war 3?) but water is too a serious problemo and we should all start drinking less water and more booze =)
