Happy Birthday to me!!

Eric and I celebrated my birthday a week early since he will be in Boston for a tradeshow next weekend. I flew into Denver Friday night and we headed straight to our favorite Sushi restaurant. Yum Yum! We got home and these pretty flowers and card were waiting for me. Oh, so sweet. There was also a present - cute shirt and jacket. He did good. It really was adorable.

Saturday morning we got up and went biking in Evergreen and after rounding a corner we saw this. Seriously like 10 feet off the trail. It was a big elk and didn't care one bit that we were there. it stared at us for a bit and just continued eating the plants. On the other side of the trail was another elk sitting down. It was fascinating and a little unnerving. Can and will elk attack people? We didn't stay around or harrass it to find out. (Good thing it wasn't a mountain lion)

After biking we stopped for lunch at this lake. Gorgeous day.

After lunch we headed back to Denver ready to nap. Nap was not in the plans though. EW surprised me with a whole day of fun-filled birthday events. He told me to get on the scooter and we headed to this great Russian day spa. We did this banyan bath/therapeutic massage treatment. Wow. Part of the process is sitting in a dry sauna for two 15 minute periods. I had to take deep breaths in order to not have a panic attack. It was hot. :)

After the spa EW cooked steaks, potatos, veggies and corn on the cob on the grill. Yummy to my tummy. And then he told me to put on a skirt and we headed out again. This time to see Avenue Q at the local theatre. That is a fun, quirky spoof on Sesame Street made for adults Broadway show.

What a great Birthday weekend. Oh, my birthday is next Saturday the 20th in case you wanted to know. ;)
