Day O Birthday Fun!

Are you ready for the post Birthday report? Here it is...

Deana flew in Friday night and she had made me this cute cute quilt! Apparently she and Laurel had a no birthday gift rule this year and she balked. Laurel was mad. ;) But to make Laurel feel better she didn't finish tying the quilt top; she left that for me to do. I guess a couple dates was more important than finishing the quilt in Deana's mind. ;)
Saturday was the Time Out For Women event in Las Vegas and Laurel graciously got tickets for Deana and I. Yes, Laurel was in town as well as will be evidenced later in the post. She told Deana and I the event started at 9am and we got there at 9:05. The event started at 8:45am and we had second row seats and two diet sodas in hand in an auditorium of 1000 people. No way were we going to throw those away. They sat safely under our seats. Yes, Laurel is in charge of the event and told us the wrong time. She is funny that way.

Me with Viginia Hinckley Pearce (Pres Hinckley's daughter as witnessed by that cute nose). She spoke at the event. For those of you who haven't been it is a great program. The speakers are great, the music is great and it is always fun to be around that many cheesy LDS women. Face it, we can be a bit cheesy. Ha

Deana and I at event. We were trying to get the banner of the show in the background but the girl taking the picture didn't understand. Its a much better picture than hiking two weeks ago. Huh Amy...

Cute Laurel working at the show... Why do I say cute so many times...

After the show we had a few hours before the concert of the night. What concert you ask? DONNY AND MARIE. It still makes me laugh out loud saying that. They have started a new variety show at the Flamingo. Deana and I headed down to the Flamingo to have dinner. We had the choice of a very expensive steakhouse, a shove as much food in your stomach as you can buffett, or a cafe. We chose the cafe. We were by far the youngest people in there and the food was terrible. We could not stop laughing.

I hate that this picture didn't turn out well... look closely; she has a side ponytail. It was my Birthday. She had to do what I said.

My disgusting cheeseburger and fries... and enormous side of mayonnaise. Deana wouldn't eat it hence the side ponytail instead.

Deana's ravioli with tomato sauce. Yes she was texting me in that picture...

Could they make this sign any bigger...

Laurel, Aryn and Aryn's friend Mary Kay joined us at the Flamingo for the concert.

Laurel trying to stop me from gambling...

Aryn looking a little seductrous. We were trying to get in back stage to meet Donny & Marie and she was working her womanly ways to the security guard.
Deana and Aryn just looking gorgeous...
I was hoping this would look a little more real than it does. Me and Donny.
The concert was fantastic. Really fantastic. Who knew that Donny & Marie would perform to a full house at the Flamingo in Las Vegas. It was the perfect LV show with dancing, music, bit of audience interaction and witty bantor. We were completely obnoxious during the show singing along, screaming, dancing but were not the only table of women being obnoxious. That place was full of women hot for Donny. Women love Donny. Ha Ha Ha.

Thanks Laurel for having to work in Las Vegas that got the ball rolling for the weekend o fun. Thanks Deana for coming. Thanks Aryn and Mary Kay for wanting to celebrate with me. I have great friends!!

I do have a couple more pictures that the photographer at the event took. If I can figure out how to use my scanner I will post them cause they are precious. Precious. Precious.
