(F)Arts & Crafts

Didn't think I'd really say that did ya, Deana? :)

I took a last minute trip up to SLC this past weekend. September in SLC has to be one of the best times to visit. It was 80 during the day and 60s at night.
Deana picked me up at 4:30 Friday afternoon and we headed to Lonestar Steakhouse immediately. Yep early bird special. Such grandmas. But we didn't split a plate; although maybe we should have.
Saturday morning we got up, got ready to go on a hike and headed to grab a bagel. When they (what I thought) said "erin" to retrieve our order, I grabbed the bag and we left. After we got into the car and started driving off we opened the bag and realized the order was not two plain bagels with cream cheese but rather two bagel, egg and cheese sandwiches. Obviously not our order. What would you have done at that point? We knew that if we took the bagels back they would have thrown them away and re-made two new ones anyway... that is all I'm saying...

We drove 15 minutes and started hiking the mountains. I love that after 15 minutes you can be hiking in the mountains. Here is a view from the trail along with a horribly ugly picture of me (good of Deana) on the trail. Do I really look that old? Ugh.

After hiking it was Arts & Crafts day. And movies. Movie #1 - Dirty Dancing. We laughed and laughed and laughed; such a classic movie. Did I ever mention that on a work trip to North Carolina I went on a boat ride on the lake where the movie was filmed? They roped me in and then after I paid the money and boarded the boat they told me the building shown in the movie had burned down. Lame.

Here is Deana making a quilt. (Yes Dirty Dancing in the background)

Here is me doing a craft for Christmas. Not telling what it is...

After a short break for shopping, we got pizza and watched Mystic Pizza. Am I such a nerd that I took a picture? Haha

We also watched Overboard (it is a good movie Laurel; you need to see it again), When Harry Met Sally, a little bit of Annie, 2 episodes of What Not to Wear and plenty of other useless entertainment. I'm very sad to say that the marathon of The Hills did not start until I was getting ready to head to the airport on Sunday. :(

Laurel joined us on Sunday for an afternoon of cards. I stink at Trump. Don't we look so sassy? Smart? Weird? I'm not sure. And yes, Deana and I did stop at the corner gas station on our way home from church to get fountain drinks. And when I say corner gas station it was a stones throw from the church. We have no shame.

Such a great weekend o' fun!

What a fun weekend!! I haven't seen Deana in forever, she's so fun. Erin I must say I am very jealous of all of your traveling and fun trips here and there. Maybe in the next life I will get to travel as much as you do :)
P.S sorry I am a slacker at posting...but I hardly have time to blog anymore :(

No, I'm not going to be upset that I didn't even get a phone call that you were in my state, let alone an hour away...never mind I was sick on my couch with a nasty cold and could have used a pick me up phone call....no, I'm not going to be upset...that's all I'm going to say about that. Glad you had such a great weekend though.:) Love ya!

I LOVE Papa John's pizza. It's by far the best national chain pizza joint.

Sometimes I wish I were a girl so I could have a GNO...or a whole weekend like this one. :)
