Okay, no pictures this round although I'm still trying to get video of the elevator ride up to the 32nd floor; it is fast and very cool. Oh and an outside view.
This is what I have learned and noticed about Canada this week...
The people here smoke a lot. A LOT. I've never seen so many nicoderm ads; on TV, at a baseball game and on billboards.
When we arrived on Sunday the trees were bare. There are now little buds on them today. Is that possible? Is my mind deceiving me?
Canadians do not get tax breaks on their mortgage and yet housing prices are just as expensive as the states. That stinks.
The MedTechs (my profession post-college) make a whole lot more money than they do in the states. It is still a growing profession and is not in a crises as in the states.
People in Canada do not leave their home towns. Where they are raised is mostly where they remain; I would say within a 100 mile radius. They are always amazed that Americans move around as much as we do.
A one way plane ticket from Las Vegas to Toronto was $350. A one way plane ticket from Buffalo, NY (right across the border) to Las Vegas was $150. They tax their flights so so much. Possibly a reason why people don't move around; it is too expensive to fly anywhere.
There are a lot of homeless people here and they are often found sleeping on a busy street corner.
Most places typically accept the American dollar.
Starbucks are NOT on every corner.
They do say 'eh' quite a bit :)

Crazy weed smoking pot head Canadians. All they have done good for the world was create a good pizza topping. Eh?

I so want to be a Canadian. I say "eh" all the time now. Can't wait to try Toronto for myself next month! I just need the "must see" shops & restaurants list from you!
