Eric and I went and visited his family this past week (bet you couldn't guess). It was sunny and humid and then cloudy and rainy; we got it all and I couldn't get enough. I don't think it hurts that his parents home is tucked away in the woods with no visible neighbors, surrounded by trees with a deck that is probably 800 square feet. So beautiful.
We did quite a bit while there - tubing on the lake, shopping, reading, relaxing, playing cards, working in the yard (Eric, not me :)). We were lucky enough to be there the week of the LDS Hill Cumorah pageant. Its about 20 minutes from his parents so Eric and I went one night. I had never seen it before. What a great production.
The stage...
The cast of 800 on stage. Very impressive.
The highlight of the week though was the "Meet and Greet" party that his family threw for us. I met Aunts and Uncles and cousins and friends. We had a card tournament (which I loved!), and tons and tons of amazing food. In fact I'm eating a salad right now trying to make up for all the calories I consumed on Saturday alone. :) The party was outside at his parent's home. The weather was beautiful and everyone stayed well into the night.
Here are some of the pics from the event.
Dan and Joan, Mary Pat's Mother...
Three of Lu's sisters and her one sister-in-law. Lu is one of 7 girls in her family. She has one brother (who was there as well) right in the middle of all those girls.
Sam and Dale playing Kan Jam - very fun game but I suggest not playing in a dress like I tried to do.
Group shot. And yes, I'm playing cards. I can never get enough cards.
Louie (Dan and Kellsie's nephew), Ally, Sarah and Tony. Such good kids.
Sue (Eric's cousin) and son Adam. He was the cutest thing.
It was such a great party. At one point a campfire was even going and we sang a campfire song. Thanks Lu for doing this for us. We absolutely loved it!!

i love that the one picture of you playing cards looks like you're playing all by yourself...like no one else even cares.
