I got online yesterday to try and find a recipe that would contain all these veggies and Borscht is what came up. So we decided to give it a go today.
Here were the rules once it was cooked and ready to eat per Eric.
1. Don't make eye contact with each other
2. We aren't allowed to say anything until we are half way done
3. We have to come up with a creative adjective to describe it
My description: Well, you wouldn't feed it to children or invite house guests over for it
Eric's description: Its very beety. Maybe we can take out the beets next time.
In case you didn't know, beets is what makes it Borscht. Without beets, its just a veggie stew. Funny EW.
I liked it. I'd eat it again. And trust me, I will. We have SO much leftover. Eric? He was iffy. He really didn't like the beets.

I LOVE your food adventures! One time some young undergrad in Tempe asked me out and he didn't have a car, so I picked him up. We went to the grocery store and he bought the ingredients to make borscht. Then we went to his house to make it (he lived with Greg Sherwood and Greg Dibb who were laughing their heads off at me). He was convinced that we were supposed to use the stem of the beet instead of the actual beet. Needless to say, I did not love the final result, and refused to take home leftovers like he wanted. He didn't ask me out again. Thank goodness.
i love that you had rules.
i'm not gonna lie...looks icky. i'm with eric.
I don't like beets, so I have to side with Eric on this one. It would've been too beety for me! I'm glad you're having such a great time!!
