Thanksgiving

This year we stayed in Denver for Thanksgiving. We definitely missed being with our families but being in our home with the extra non-working days is turning out to be nice. We have lots on our list that we are hoping to get done. That opportunity sure doesn't happen very often.

I have to say, our Mother's would be quite proud the way we pulled off our Thanksgiving meal. We decided to get together with the Reynolds and at the last minute another couple joined us. Molly was in charge of the turkey (which we deep fried), stuffing, and potatoes & gravy. I was in charge of the green bean casserole, sweet potatoes, rolls and cranberry sauce. And then we each made a pie (Molly ended up making two cause she couldn't decide. Ha). The other couple brought a cornbread casserole. Every single thing was unbelievably good. I mean really, really good. We didn't cut corners. Everything was homemade minus the frozen Rhodes rolls. They are a step below homemade but a huge step above store bought (at least in my opinion). I have never eaten so much on Thanksgiving. It was so worth it.

Our spread...(we went buffet style)

And the group... Steve and Beth; Jason and Molly; Eric and me

Another group shot... Eric being silly and me laughing hysterically at him...

Definitely a Thanksgiving to remember!! Now back to our home projects.

Friend Thanksgivings really are fun. Not that family ones aren't but it's just different. You are looking great. You are getting close to the less than 100 day countdown. I remember really being excited for that with Isabel.
