This is the second morning this week that I've had to set an alarm for 3:30am. But this time it was 3:30am Eastern Time.
The excitement of work travel lost its charm this week.
Tuesday - leave Denver at 6:00am and arrive in Greensboro, NC. Avis doesn't have a car available even though I have a reservation. Seinfeld episode ringing through my head...
Wednesday - google maps is not up-to-date with all the changes in the Greensboro area and I get completely lost trying to find my way from dinner back to hotel at night in the dark.
Thursday - United delays my flight by enough time that I will miss my connection in DC. They "book" me on Friday morning US Airways flight - 5:30am flight. One more night in Greensboro.
Friday - United in actuality didn't issue me a ticket on the US Airways flight and therefore US Airways has no record for me. I patiently deal with the counter agent while I'm trying not to completely lose control. A nice man at another counter sees I'm going to completely lose it and steps in to help. I get to gate as plane is in final boarding. I might love that man.
All I can say is the extra money I just spent for a first-class upgrade from Charlotte to Denver will be worth every. single. penny. Get me away from people and give me my space!
Yes, I'm ready to be home and done traveling for awhile! Lets just hope Eric is at his office when I get home. I probably won't be much fun to be around this morning. But its justified, right? ;)
