Triple Bypass

Eric and I had the great opportunity Saturday to witness one of the country's most grueling athletic events... the Triple Bypass.

The ride, which started in Evergreen, CO (first village into the Rockies) at an elevation of 7,220 feet, moved up Squaw Pass (9,807 feet) and then Juniper Pass (11,140 feet) before descending all the way to Idaho Springs (7,524 feet). Next came a long climb to the top of Loveland Pass (11,990 feet), and then the steep plunge down to Keystone. After a ride around Lake Dillon, the riders made their way to Copper Ski Area and then up Vail Pass (10,560 feet) before the long decline into Avon (7,430 feet). The ride climbs 10,310 total feet in 120 miles, and some of the top bikers blazed through in just less than seven hours.
What an inspiration these people were. They dedicated at least the last 6 mos (for those that were in shape; possibly much longer for beginners) training, cycling, giving up weekends with friends for biking, eating healthy and so much more to prepare for this climb. Are we so dedicated to a cause in our lives?

i crewed for a guy who did the "wasatch 100"...a 100-mile run. I turned it into a spiritual analogy for sunday school class that weekend.
But, when all is said and done, it's nothing but crazy!
(kidding...I'd like to think I'm that committed to something. I just fear I'm not)

GREAT POST!

Looks like you're finding good ways to stay out of Vegas this summer. It's hot here by Utah standards, but still nowhere as bad.

Wow it is gorgeos there. That is amazing how dedicated those bikers have to be.
