Nerdy, not nerdy?

I have to admit that I've resorted to wearing earplugs at work. Yes, work. I got addicted to earplugs right after college when I was working the grave yard shift and trying to sleep in a basement apartment under some very noisy neighbors.

I since have worn them because they help me get into a deep sleep at night despite the advice of my Mother that I won't hear the burglars coming in. I've always told her I don't want to hear them.

Well, with the shift of my responsibilities at work, I spend a ton A TON of time writing documents. I work in an environment of cubicles and everyone is as loud as I am (imagine that!). So now my daily ritual is to eat breakfast, chat with my co-workers and pop in those earplugs where I can pretty effectively tune out everyone around me.

Next step... wearing them at family get-togethers...

nerdy, not nerdy??? Deana?

Nerdy, but necessary. For me, writing takes concentration - I could never do it with the person next to me chomping on an apple or chattering on about last night's date. Don't worry, nerdy is, er, well, kind of your style... (ha!)

Love the blog!

I'm with Aryn. Nerdy but necessary. You could yell at everyone and tell them to shut the hell up but then you'd be the Office Bitch rather than the kinda weird girl with the earplugs.

Also, does Henderson have a problem of robberies? Why does your mom worry? that's a little weird. And what are you gonna do if you hear them? Go yell at them? Seriously. Earplugs all the way Erin. Don't ever give them up.

Let me know how Bobby handles you wearing them at family get togethers. THAT will be priceless.
