Week 26

For those of you who thought we wouldn't make it to 6 months, pay up!

This week consisted of selling my car (you wonder how I could sell it with this picture, but I did). I cried a little. I loved this car. But the lady who purchased it was very sweet so it made me feel better about saying goodbye. We are now a one car + scooter family. Several of my friends said they give us 3 months before we are out shopping for another car. I think we can do it. I really think for now we can make it work.

We got a good snowstorm this week. The good wet, heavy snow that makes the trees gorgeous and the roads a mess. The power went out in our building which caused all sorts of excitement. The elevator stopped with a poor elderly woman in it. So the firetrucks were summoned, and the lady was freed. I'm pretty sure I would have wet my pants waiting.

I love snow in trees.
Eric and I ventured out once the power went out (it was 6pm) and went to get dinner. What a slushy mess! When we got back to our building the stairwells were completely dark and we had to use our cell phones as flashlights. It was a bit creepy. I'm not sure what I would have done if I was alone in that situation. Power was restored by morning although I was secretly hoping it would still be out so I could take a personal day.

And we had the great pleasure of cat sitting this week. This is Rosie and she is a kitten. She really is quite adorable and we had fun with her but are fine that she is leaving tonight. ;) The first night she wanted to sleep on our heads. One night of no sleep was all we could take. All subsequent nights we made a bed for her and stuck her in the office and shut the door. She cried for a few minutes and then was fine. She loved to play and it was fun making her chase things. But pretty much we are not cat people. I'm sure we will watch her again but are glad she is not a permanent fixture.

She wanted to be right next to me all day while I was working. It was either here or on my lap, the entire day!
I hosted monthly book club at our loft. It was fun to have the ladies over and be the hostess. I tried to get Eric to stay and be our server but for some reason he didn't think that would be so fun. He opted to meet some friends for dinner. I'm pretty sure he made the right choice. When he got back there were conversations of breast feeding going on. :)

The weekend was relaxing and more relaxing. We figure we should enjoy these days while we can. We hit our favorite Mexican restaurant last night and just vegged at home. We are going to take a nice ride today cause it is beautiful and sunny! Happy 6 months to us!!
